Reliance Jio has launched India’s first satellite-based gigabit broadband service called Jio Space Fiber in partnership with the European tech SES .
The service aims to provide high-speed internet connectivity across India, even in remote areas, by integrating the satellite network with Jio’s 4G/5G terrestrial infrastructure .
The Jio Space Fiber uses a combination of GEO and MEO satellites to provide internet connectivity across India. It will use a pretty advanced SES or satellite communication ground stations that help receive data back from the GEO & MEO satellites placed more than 8,000 KM above the earth’s surface. The service aims to deliver affordable, high-speed internet even in remote areas .
